Seattle First Church of the Nazarene

Discovery House

Discovery House was built in 1951 and is owned by Seattle First Church of the Nazarene. The building is quickly being seen throughout Wallingford as a community resource.

History of Discovery House

In 2002, the board at Seattle First Church took action to rename the building at 4401 2nd Ave NE. The decision was based on the Biblical concept that the Church is the body of believers joining together and the building, just that – a building, is where the body can join together. It was the decision of the board in 2002 to rename the building. Formerly known as “Seattle First Church of the Nazarene,” the building is now titled “Discovery House.”

Seattle First Church holds regular meetings on Sundays in the Discovery House Sanctuary and other rooms throughout the building. Four other congregations, two non-profits, three artists in residency, a number of community groups, along with Mosaic a community coffee house also utilize Discovery House throughout the week.
